Class info: Warrior's Style-Shift and Warriors Paths?

Postby SPEEDoverPOWER » Mon May 21, 2012 1:34 am

Hello, I'm new to the game. Just played 4 hrs straight of the BETA today. I first started on the Donar PvE server with a lv4 Rouge, then move to Valkrie PvP server with a currently lv7 warrior. Idk what's the thing with "PvE" and "PvP" servers. I know what PvP means but a PvE? Can someone explain? Getting to the main questions, Warrior has different "Style-Shifts". When I say style shifts, I mean the "Readyness skill" and the "Guarded" one. What are this for? Is one for Offense skills and the other shift is for Defensive? Or both shifts are required to use certain skills on whichever shifts? And lastly, Can someone explain to me the Warriors path? I need explaining on Ire,Assault(or somethin), and Aegis path. And how do you Choose paths? How does it work? Please help me figure this out.

I would like to know more about warriors because they are the most efficient for any starting class on occasional MMORPGs because in my opinion, A Tank is a good way to start any game and easily obtain good items and equipments for your Main Job/class or just for the Sake of Tanking bosses and easy/good drops. So yeah, I want to know warrior for a base job that will led me easily with my Rouge.

Please Help me, and Thank You

Can't help you much with your fighter class, but I can tell you that Traits have not been implemented yet and that it will be a while before that. We're probably talking 2 or 3 months here

Idk if you have ever played wow or not but from what I read about readiness and guard or whatever it seems like the battle, defensive and berserk stance type thing, certain abilities can be used in each stance and some abilities can be used in all and trait paths haven't been implemented yet

SPPEDoverPOWER. First off, welcome once again.

PvE stands for Person Versus Environment. The PvP server is an open world person versus person setting with very few "safe zones" whereas the PvE Server in order to participate in PvP you'll need to turn on your characters PvP flag (optional for all characters). PvE Server is meant for people who enjoy questing and dungeons and leveling without the risk of an open world PvP (which can include ganking, level trolls, etc.)

Fighter class paths, spell list and moderate spell explanations can be found at THIS LINK, you may wish to ask Mako, Kast, or other lvl 24/25 fighter characters more specific fighter questions as they have a very good understanding of this class. As stated above, trait paths for classes has NOT been implemented yet nor any detailed explanations given, we'll all wait for those to be revealed in the months to come.

I see. So no class has it's Paths yet. I also understand that it will come later to the game. PvP servers sounds like Love/Hate gameplay :)

BTW, is their dual wield maces/axes for warrior at the time? Or it's to early for that?

Warrior can dual wield I believe, it also works just not sure either the visual animation bug is fixed or not.

(dual wielding can be unlocked at lvl20, not sure what lvl)

Note that Warrior has only 2 focuses in WoM not 3 like Rootl mentioned trying to compare to wow.

Lv20 for dual wields? That's kinda not as bad as I think it would. Some games demands more just for dual wields, I'm glad that it's just that for this game. *phew*

Quick question, Can you reach lv25 on The beta without buying the dessert zone package? Because you knoW... Just wondering

I actually had a guildie that tried doing just that. At around level 15-16 she level capped in the starting zone, no mobs would give her exp. She's lucky her GM was wanting a desert grinding partner at the time...
